Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, from the Borgerdings!

Justin & I both had to work Thanksgiving day, so the three of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner of fajitas, one of our very favorites! We spent today with my family and friends at my mom's close friend's house. What a wonderful Thanksgiving it turned out to be! Joseph wouldn't eat anything except black olives and cranberries, but since it was Thanksgiving we figured that was alright! He did scarf down a great amount of turkey after we got home!

Justin is still working at KMart, unloading trucks & stocking shelves in the mornings. He has to be at work at 4 am, but it's nice, because he's off early. It's only part-time work to help pay bills until he ships out in February. He seems to really enjoy the job, though, which helps!

I got another promotion a week ago. I am now the Supervisor of the MRSI Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Program. I now work 7am-3pm, which has been wonderful for the three of us to spend more time together! I've only been on the job for a week now, so I'm not entirely sure how I'll like it. But, so far it has been a smooth transition from my previous position at a Residential Habilitation Supervisor.

Joseph continues to grow and change everyday! His vocabulary in expanding, it now includes Grandpa (or sometimes just Pa), ball (his absolute favorite word), shit (uh-oh Mom & Dad), Avi, stop, mine, that, and of course Mama & Dad (or simply Da)! We are still working on the potty training thing, and so far it's gone well! He loves his big boy underwear, but of course would still prefer to be naked! He doesn't like his little potty chair, though, because we won't sit on it. He won't sit to pee, he has to stand like Da does. One night he watched Justin going "pee-pee" and he ripped off his diaper, stood next to Justin, and peed on the floor right beside the toilet! So at least he has the general concept!

We put up our Christmas tree! We did it solely for Joseph's enjoyment this year, and to avoid our precious ornaments getting broken. We bought Joseph tons and tons of HotWheels cars, and hanged them on the tree with fishing wire. He loves it!! He loves to pull the cars off and play with them for awhile, then when he's done, he hands the car to one of us to hang back up! We took him shopping and he picked out a Monster Truck out of the 50 on the shelf, so that's his tree topper! Our tree is beautiful! I will post pictures soon!

We are getting very excited for Christmas! We are saving money to get Joseph's big boy bed (we have decided to wait to put him in it until we get moved and settled at Justin's first duty station). So his big gift from us is new bedding (Street Camo!)! It's very cool! We've also got him numerous cars, a really cool Nascar rug for him to play with his cars on, some airplanes, and of course some clothes & shoes! The boy doesn't need any toys, he has more than he knows what to do with now!

We are going to spend Christmas Eve night (because we both work during the day) with my parents at their house (and hopefully my brother, Lance, will come up for a visit so I can see him before we move). We will have breakfast and open presents at our house Christmas morning, and then have lunch and open presents at my parents' house. We plan on leaving their house around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and heading to Kiowa, CO to spend the rest of the night and next day with Justin's Dad and stepmom! We love going down there, and hopefully the weather will cooperate so we can spend our last Christmas at home with everyone!

I ordered Justin's birthday gift tonight! He will be so excited when it gets here! I can't wait to see him open it, given that he hasn't already guessed it or doesn't check the mail before I get a chance! We are going out to dinner and drinks with my parents next weekend to celebrate Justin's 22nd birthday!

I can't believe November is already almost over! Only two more months with my honey! My parents bought us a camcorder for Christmas (yes, we got it early)! I am going to make some dvds of Justin doing things around the house, reading Joe's books, talking to me, etc., so that Joseph and I can watch them everyday while he's gone! I am also going to fill one of the beautiful crystal dishes my Grandma Sandy bought us for our wedding with Hershey's hugs and kisses! Joseph will receive one hug or kiss everynight that Justin is gone to count the days until he's home! It will be a hard time for Joseph, he is so close to his dad! I'm not looking forward to the six months apart, but I know my husband is excited, and Joseph & I are both very proud of him! I've already started planning our trips to Ft. Jackson & to Aberdeen!

Well, I am going to wrap this up. Justin is tossing and turning, so I imagine that's my cue that I'm keeping him awake! I have so many pictures to update on here! I will get them up this weekend after the Christmas parade! I hope all of you who actually read this are doing well! We miss and love EACH and EVERY one of our family & friends!

The Many Faces of Joseph Patrick

In the short time that it takes my toddler son to eat a single banana, I could make a picture book of his many faces! Joseph is so animated, even while doing something as simply as snacking on fruit! His expressions, each and every one of them, brings such joy to our lives!

Here are some of the many faces I was able to capture in a matter of 5 minutes!
